My Favorite Photos From December — In-home newborn photography Michigan

As a Michigan family photographer, December always steals a special piece of my heart. There’s something about the cozy light, the snuggly layers, and the slower pace that brings out the most tender moments. This month’s favorite images are a mix of fresh newborn sweetness, joyful family connection and I couldn’t be more excited to share them with you.

Parents snuggling on their couch holding their newborn and laughing together during an in-home session

One of my absolute favorite things to capture is the tiny newborn details that change so quickly. In the first set of images, you’ll notice the delicate little hands wrapped up snug in a patterned blue swaddle. The texture of soft newborn skin, the curled fingers, and the way babies instinctively hold themselves close… it’s pure magic. Another close-up focuses on those perfect little lips — the soft pout, the gentle light, the peaceful stillness. These micro-moments are the ones parents look back on and say, “I’m so glad we captured that.”

December also brings some of the sweetest and best family snuggles of the season. I love the candid, joyful energy of parents wrapping their arms around their little ones, sharing kisses and laughter. Soft winter light, and the genuine connection make photographs that instantly bring a smile to your face. These are the types of moments I live to photograph — the real, the candid, the unposed magic of family life.

Booking 2026 Newborn Sessions — Now Open!

If you’re expecting a baby in 2026, now is the perfect time to reserve your newborn session. Welcoming new life into the world is one of the most incredible experiences a family can have, and it’s always an honor to be invited to document that season.

I always recommend booking your newborn session at least four weeks before your due date to ensure availability. Newborns change so quickly, and having your date secured ahead of time helps us plan for the most peaceful, natural, and relaxed experience possible. And the best part? My newborn sessions take place in your home, where everything is familiar, cozy, and meaningful.
